A large antique late-victorian (C. 1880-1900, possibly slightly earlier) 15k rose gold locket with double sided glass. 30mm wide by 40mm tall (not including bail/loop)

This is a project locket (and would be quite pricey otherwise), either for a jeweler or someone who wants to take this to a jeweler and have it fixed up. I bought it for myself, as a practice project so I could brush up on my metal skills...but I've just been too busy to ever work on it.

It has two issues, which are highlighted in the photos below...it needs one small tube soldered to the top to fix the hinge, and there is a small split on the frame on the back of the locket...both easily fixed by a jeweler or someone with intermediate metal skills! The original gold split ring on the top also should be replaced, because it is wearing thin in a couple places.


Issue 1...on the back of the locket the frame is split, it has an old repair to the inside, so structurally it is very sound, but the split was never fixed from the front. The split is actually very thin and only noticeable when you are looking at the locket up close.


Issue #2...needs 1/2 of the hinge replaced, just a very small length of tube soldered to the top, the rest of the original hinge is intact. Obviously the inner frame needs to be cleaned & polished as well, I haven't done any of that since it would need to be re-polished after the repairs are made anyhow.
